Adult 6-v-6 Soccer

🏆 Game Format

6 Players per team on the field (5 field players + 1 goalie).

Gameclock will always start right at kickoff time and continue to run until the end of the match. A minimum of 3 rostered players must be at the field by kick-off time otherwise the team with less than 3 players will forfeit the game. It is up to the manager of the full-squaded team to decide if they want to start the game 6 v 3 or wait until more players show up.

Unlimited substitutions, subbing on the fly.

No offsides.

No slide tackling.

"Too Much" - Referee may blow the whistle on any challenge that they deem too aggressive/too much for the context & culture of Oahu 6v6.

No Trash Talking - Games involving B & C Division teams only - Any words spoken from one player to another that are deemed disrespectful, degrading, or inappropriate for our culture of community will result in an automatic blue card.

Uniforms: Matching shirts required, but numbered jerseys are not.

📅 Match Rules

Match Length 24-minute halves (23.5 for men's)

Half Time 1:30 minutes

Out of Bounds Pass in from where the ball went out (no throw-ins)

End Line Ball If last touched by offense, keeper gets possession (no goal kicks)

Defensive Free Kicks Defenders must be 3 yards away

Cards & Penalties

🔵 Blue Card = Player sits for 2 minutes or until scored on. No sub allowed.

🔴 Red Card = Player ejected + potential 1-week suspension for serious offenses*. (Team must play down a player for 2 mins or until a goal is scored. A player may return but not the player that was red-carded)

*Cursing at an opponent, the referee, or your own team mate is an automatic red card and one game suspension

3 blue cards or two red cards by one team in one game = automatic forfeit of that game and team is suspended for one game. Two infractions of this rule and the league may remove the team

👕 Uniforms/Gear

Home team wears dark-colored tops (noted on schedule).

Away team wears light-colored tops (noted on schedule).

Cleats are mandatory, shin guards optional. Running shoes/flats/metal spikes prohibited

⚽ Coed-Specific Rules

2 women must be field players at all times.

If a woman is goalie, 3 women must be playing in total (2 in the field, one in the net).

Men’s shots from inside 12 yards must be below a female keeper’s waist.

Shoulder-to-shoulder challenges must be gauged appropriately and can be deemed a foul at the referees discretion.

📢 Mercy Rule

If a team is down by 5 goals, they may add one extra player.
